March  17-18  2008 - Destination! Out of State Students Only

  • If you’ve been admitted to Washington State University but haven’t decided if WSU is right for you, this is the program to attend. You’ll receive the information you need to decide whether to make WSU your destination.
 

April


April  3-5, 2008 - Future Cougars of Color

  • Future Cougars of Color is a visitation program for high-achieving high school students, with scholarships worth as much as $40,000 (over four years). It is just one way WSU demonstrates a commitment to diversity and acknowledges the benefit we all receive from a talented, diverse student body.

April 5, 2008 - Preview for Juniors

  • If you are a high school junior with questions about how to prepare for college, what majors are available and how they match your interests, or what faculty are really like, then this program will provide you with the information you need to begin planning your academic future.

 April 6-7,  2006 - Transfer Student Registration Days

 April 20-21,  2006 - Transfer Student Registration Days

  • This program is packed with activities designed to help transferring students make the transition to Washington State University. The session will include detailed information about your major, register you for classes, and provide insight into valuable campus resources and services.

April 21, 2008 - Destination!

  • If you’ve been admitted to Washington State University but haven’t decided if WSU is right for you, this is the program to attend. You’ll receive the information you need to decide whether to make WSU your destination.

 


May

 May  1, 2008 - Tuition deposits due.
  • If you've been offered admission as a freshman or transfer student, your $200 tuition deposit will confirm your space at the University.  If this payment  poses a financial hardship, students should contact the Office of Admissions directly, toll free at 1-888-468-6978 and ask about deferring this payment until the beginning of the semester.
May  2, 2008 - Last day of WSU Spring 2008 term.
 
May  5, 2008 - 1st day of classes for Block A Summer Session

May 2008 - Fraternity and Sorority Rush information
  • Fraternity and sorority recruitment information disseminated. If you’ve been accepted to the University and have not received this information by the end of May, call the Office of Residence Life at 509-335-2611 or 509-335-RUSH.

May 23, 2008 - Deadline for payment of summer tuition
          for courses beginning between May 5th and June 1st and/or 
           for for 12-week courses & internships.

Attend Alive!
  • Alive! is an action-packed three-day (two-day for transfer students) orientation and registration program offered during the summer months and designed to prepare you for the start of classes in the fall. Whether you're a freshman, transfer student, or parent, you'll find things to interest and excite you.  More information may be found here.
June  2, 2008
  • 1st day of classes for Block B Summer Session.
  • 1st day of aid release for students who are registered for 
     Block B only.
  • 2nd disbursement of Stafford loans for those students 
    whose aid released on May 5th.

Mid June 2008 - Housing & Dining Information

  • Residence hall and room assignments are available to students beginning in mid-June through the WSU portal. Students can view this information by accessing their myWSU account at www.mywsu.edu. Your application date determines your priority for housing; returning the housing contract as soon as possible gives you a better chance of obtaining the living arrangements you prefer.
 
June 16, 2008 -
  • 1st day of classes for Block C Summer Session.
  • 1st day of aid release for students who are registered
    for  Block C only.

June 20th, 2008 - Deadline for payment of summer tuition
          for courses beginning between June 2nd and July 25th.

Attend Alive!

  • Alive! is an action-packed three-day (two-day for transfer students) orientation and registration program offered during the summer months and designed to prepare you for the start of classes in the fall. Whether you're a freshman, transfer student, or parent, you'll find things to interest and excite you.  More information may be found here.
Early August - If you did not attend Alive!, you will receive your
                             academic advisor assignment in the mail.

Mid-August - Fall Orientation
                             For those students who did not attend Alive!
                            
Summer Orientation, plan to come to Fall
                             Orientation. The program offers a two day session
                             of activities, workshops, speakers, and special
                             events. It is an experience that will ease your
                             concerns, assist and advise you in course selection
                             and registration, and answer your questions about
                             campus life. In addition, Fall Orientation offers
                             opportunities to meet new people and make the
                             most of your first days on campus.

Start applying for scholarships for 2009-2010.  
    All students (future and currently enrolled) apply for WSU
    scholarships. Apply on-line here (not yet available)
    
When checking with your counselor or the WSU Financial Aid Office
for scholarship applications, be sure to ask about:
Academic Achievement/Diversity Scholarship Program
Glenn Terrell Presidential Scholarships
WSU Alumni Association Scholarships 
    For all future and current WSU students
 
      To receive consideration for these awards complete the
         WSU Academic Scholarship Application by January 31st
        
deadline. Exceptions to this deadline are noted in the
         scholarship descriptions.
      Some awards require a special application from the
        Alumni Association.
WSU College and Departmental Scholarships  
    Direct your inquiries about scholarship availability,
       application procedures, and deadlines to the department or
       college of your field of study. 
    If you have not yet selected a major, contact the Office of
       Scholarship Services for more information about
       departmental awards.
New and transfer students - Your application for admission will automatically place you into consideration for these awards, however early admission application is essential.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid needs to be on-file with the federal processor by this date in order to receive priority application processing.  Applications received after this date will still be considered but funding may be limited.
