Faculty/Staff Dependent Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must have completed the WSU Academic Scholarship Application and be enrolled full time.

Only dependents of the following employees of WSU are eligible:

  1. Classified staff holding half time or greater appointments and having permanent status;

  2. Classified staff on trial service appointments and meeting the approved criteria;

  3. Faculty and administrative professional employees holding half time or greater appointments;

  4. USDA/ARS and ROTC faculty and staff employed at WSU locations who meet the WSU employee eligibility requirements.

Awards are available for two years for undergraduate students if the student recipient has made satisfactory progress as defined by the university and maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and above.  Employees' dependents will be eligible for this program as long as they are pursuing an undergraduate degree and have not exceeded age 25.  Spouses of employees are not eligible.

All students receiving this award must have a qualifying parent as of the beginning of the academic year of the award and must not be older than 25 at the beginning of each term of the award.  i.e., a student who turns 26 during fall semester would receive the award for fall only.

Students new to WSU will receive the award if they meet the above requirements and have been admitted to the university.  (No GPA requirement.).

Students who have completed one or more terms at WSU must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 to receive the award.

Students applying for the second year of the award in the year immediately following their first award year will have their award renewed if they completed 24 credit hours for the first award year and have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.

Students applying for the second year of the award for a year not immediately following their first award year must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA but need not have completed 24 credit hours in the previous year.  This includes students whose renewal had previously been denied due to low GPA or low credit hours passed.
